Santa Vall 2027: dates, stages and routes
Santa Vall is a two-stage gravel race run by the team behind The Traka, based in the Vall de Llémena just north of Girona. The 2027 edition runs from 5 to 7 February. Riders race a long stage on Saturday and a shorter one on Sunday, and the overall result is the combined time of both days.
Race at a glance
Dates: Friday 5 to Sunday 7 February 2027
Base: La Pineda, Sant Gregori, Girona
Stage 1, Saturday: 139 km with about 1,800 m of climbing
Stage 2, Sunday: 83 km with about 1,100 m of climbing
Friday: a 13.2 km time trial for the Pro category only
Series: Gravel Earth Series (not a UCI event)
The Santa Vall course
Both stages start and finish at La Pineda and use forest tracks, gravel roads and short paved links through the Llémena valley and the hills around Girona. The terrain rolls all day rather than building to one big climb, and the tracks get heavy in the wet. In 2026, heavy rain before the race left Stage 1 with muddy sectors. Stage 1 has a water point at around km 43 and a feed zone at around km 90. Stage 2 has a feed zone at around km 39 with a time cut, so riders at the back need to keep moving.
Age group categories run from U23 and 24 to 34, then in five-year bands up to 70 to 74, alongside Pro and Open classes.
Santa Vall GPX and route files
The provisional 2027 stage routes are on RideWithGPS. Open the Stage 1 route on RideWithGPS and the Stage 2 route on RideWithGPS and export the GPX for your bike computer. The RideWithGPS files show slightly less climbing than the organiser’s headline figures (about 1,750 m and 1,050 m). Registration, timings and the final routes are on the official Santa Vall website.
Racing Santa Vall with reset cc
Santa Vall is a race on our calendar, not a team camp. It runs on the roads we train on every week in Girona, Zack races it, and members are welcome to join him. You enter and book your stay directly, and your coach plans the build and the race weekend with you. It is an early season block of gravel volume before the road qualifiers start with The Millars in March.
