The road race course
The road race is one loop around the Neusiedler See. It heads south into Hungary through Sopron and Fertőd, then comes back into Austria and up the eastern shore through Illmitz and Podersdorf before returning along the west side to Mörbisch. The course is flat and exposed, so wind and positioning decide the race. Riders start in blocks by age group, seven minutes apart, and all age groups ride the full 125 km. The roads stay open to traffic, so normal traffic rules apply. The organiser lists the course at 125 km, and the UCI listed it at 127 km in 2026.
The time trial course
The time trial runs 26 km from Mörbisch over the Goldberg and back on closed roads. It has only about 200 m of climbing, so it rewards a good position and steady power. Check the organiser’s rules on bike classes before race week.
Routes and race information
The route, programme and entry links are on the official Neusiedler See Radmarathon website. We link the 2026 road race route on Komoot. Entries for the road race and the time trial are separate, with a discount for entering both.
Qualifying for Gran Fondo Worlds
Under the current UCI Gran Fondo World Series rules, the top 25% of riders who start in each age group qualify, and the first three always qualify. Each race counts for its own discipline at Worlds, so you can qualify for the time trial on Saturday and the road race on Sunday.
